Salt baths are used for many and various kinds of heat treatment. For example, they are not only in popular use for the hardening of steel but also for the brazing of aluminium.

For this purpose, Durferrit GmbH has developed a salt bath process: salt is made up of a mixture of chlorides and a defined level of fluxing agent.
